Minun Jouluni by Antti Tuisku review.
Life is running faster and sometimes theres no time to stop and to think about the way youre living. We need a single moment to calm down and to look inside. Looking inside is always strange like walking on the edge of heaven.
All we need miracles but while living we lose our childish dreams about kind fairies and wise wizards coming our way. Lost in the world of dry calculation and cynicism we almost stopped to dream and wait for miracles. But only one night stays the same for us no matter how old we are and how many problems we have. It is Christmas night. The night of the biggest miracle ever happened in this life. The night when Gods son came to our guilty earth to save all the humankind by the price of his own death. In this night all we want to believe in good and do think that our ways will lead us to the light. Theres something magic in the air when you are breathing cold air at Christmas night.
21-years old Finnish singer Antti Tuisku made the thing very few people who are more old do. He did the best he may do. He brought a tale to people. I will not be too much exaggerating saying that his third CD Minun Jouluni is the best of what he did before.
First and second albums by Mr. Tuisku was undoubtedly full of life and light only this guy can make. His angel voice and especial manner of singing colors his songs bright and sparkly. Nevertheless all those was just pop-music. Im not gonna blame this kind of art but pop-music means always a little bit superficial approach. MJ is not pop-music in common sense of this word. It is soft 10-songs-story about miracles all we need. It is a winter tale for those who want believe in miracles but cannot do it living in this cruel world.
Those who are searching for a drive in this music will be disappointed. There are no songs like Miten Ois or Sa Fuulaat. No strong passion. Just true feelings. Just calm and tender pieces of dream. Antti invites us to dream. His gentle voice leads us to clean and boundless worlds of majestic beauty of northern country. Maybe its Lapland mystical place on the edge of the world. He knows this place so well. Palaan kotiin home is always waiting. There are always a shelter for bitten soul. Home will heal every wound. Home is that escape where the warm flame always is burning as an eternal sign of old true.
Lmmin Lumi peitt maan the snow is covering tired earth. Didnt you know that snow is warm? Snow can save. Snow is pure and light. Earth will sleep till spring streams will wake her up.
Oi jouluy just listen to the silence. Silence has a sound but in usual life, we cannot hear it. Just close your eyes and follow the crystal melody of this voice. It is like a little nightingale is playing tiny strings.
Sydmeeni joulun teen Christ is crying on heaven listening to this song. Its a rare kind of suffering and release in this song all together. It makes a trace of tears but the tears are light. Cry to be better. Cry to understand the meaning of our Saviors sufferings. Every suffering makes us more pure.
If switch off all the emotions that are heating while listening to this CD I must say the next. Antti grown up since Idols. He grown up even since his second album. I wish to hope he will not stop. If hell continue singing he will reach the highest top. The style of MJ reminds me early Sarah Brightman (album Dive). Anttis way of singing now is closer to Jean-Jacques Goldman style, for example, his song Les Murralles. Arrangements of CD sometimes sounds as Blackmores night medieval tunes. In any case, it is wonderful work worth to listen and to listen it not only in Christmas Eve. This songs touch the best feelings ever may live in human soul. They are fresh and frank, lovely and gentle. Just remember miracles are existing.
